My Name is Dominic Zanzucchi. I was born and raised in Flagstaff, Arizona. I was lucky enough to grow up skiing and that fostered a love for not only the sport, but also being in the mountains and outdoors. While I was in college I got a wild hair and signed up for an EMT class. Ski Patrolling was my first job after becoming an EMT in 2007, and I’ve somehow made it a career. If I really think about it I realize how important this job has been in steering the direction of my life. Through all of the connections I’ve made, skills I’ve learned, and opportunities I’ve taken as a patroller I’ve landed here: Ski Patrol Manager leading a crew of 60 pros in the winter, and Helitack Wildland Firefighter flying into remote locations to fight fire and provide search and rescue in the summer. I also met my best friend and love of my life, Kelly, while working on the patrol.
I’m happy to be on the APP Board of Directors now. I hope I can help to do something to give back to the profession that’s made me who I am.
